409784 2005-12-02 22:19:00 Help needed from Poppa Johns daughter, Julie please.
Currently doing UCOL National Certificate in Computing Level 2, at home study. Have completed my assignment and have tried to send file....but won't allow me to send it as it comes up with "mbd" file is harmful to my computer.
Using, as part of course, Microsoft Office 2003. Thanks in advance.....

409785 2005-12-02 22:27:00 Its a security feature, by the looks of it

409786 2005-12-03 01:13:00 Would zipping up the .mbd file solve the issue?

Cheers :)

409787 2005-12-03 04:50:00 Hi PJ, you should get a prompt advising that the attachment is potentially unsafe but do you want to send it anyway. So your saying this prompt does not appear?

An option that should work is zipping the file into a password protected zip file. You will of course have to include the password used - say just "password" - in th body of the mail for the other party. Usually, mail clients will attempt to scan zip files for potentially harmful attachments but cant do so if a zip file is password protected so let it pass.

Good luck. :)

409788 2005-12-03 07:21:00 Hi All, PJ here. The Daughter has followed this thread & has had NO success. Any further ideas, Please PJ Poppa John (284)
409789 2005-12-03 07:58:00 Thank you for the help. Daughter used the 'zip' suggestions which seem to have worked. 'Seem to have' due to the fact that she now has a massive headache from attempting to get this sorted for past 2 days.....and all for just TWO credits. The joys of 'learning curves' :) Maryann (2010)
409790 2005-12-03 08:50:00 Hi PJ. Has she considered to upload the file to a webserver or website (such as via ImageF1, if Daniel doesn't mind :p ), then you download it from the website to your own computer.

Cheers :)

409791 2005-12-03 22:26:00 James... I dont know what the situation is at the moment. Julie is doing a UCOL University computer course. The assignment is done & ready to E-mail in. Snailmail will not be accepted. I assume that this 'hitch' is part of the course. UCOL will not tell what to do. PJ Poppa John (284)
