2005-12-01 06:46:00 | Hi, I need to get an AGP card, with TV out, and at least 64mb memory, that can work in a 4x port, but also 8x so i can upgrade mobo when money allows it. What would you recommend? I would like something from nVidia, but will go with ATI if needed. I also dont want to spend more than $200. Thanks Daniel

2005-12-01 07:09:00 | Hmm....looks like most cards support 4x. What sort should i get? It will be used in a Windows Media Center pc | dwnz (5333) | |
2005-12-01 07:11:00 | They'll go down to 4x anyway. So, it doesnt matter. And well, they'll run at 8x once u get a mobo that supports 8x.

2005-12-01 07:13:00 | What makes you think that AGP 8x cards won't run at 4x? PS What sort of MB upgrade are you planning? Don't do it just to get 8x AGP. If it's a worthwhile upgrade it probably won't have an AGP slot.

2005-12-01 07:19:00 | I duno what im planning to upgrade to....i havent thought that far ahead yet. Im just trying to build an O.K. performance media center, for hardly any money, and using parts i already have | dwnz (5333) | |
2005-12-01 19:35:00 | Take into consideration when you think you will upgrade your mobo. I have just been through the agp card excersise and it looks like PCI-E is all the rage. If you buy a AGP card now you may not get a mobo to support it for much longer ?. Even a decent AGP card is getting harder to find, everyones website list them as in stock but when you query them thay are actually out of stock with none due in. | WicKed (9299) | |
