So you still get free local calls (under the Kiwi-share agreement), but any toll calls you make, domestic or overseas, is charged at Ihug's prices by Ihug. For your internet, I would suggest you have a look at their plans and see what seems the best value for money. In any case, unless you're getting a significantly better deal on toll calls (and you make a lot of them), I would strongly recommend that you go with tolls through Ihug as well - $10 saving is a lot in the big scheme of things. |

| 409620 | 2005-12-23 03:38:00 | I would certainly agree with, and endorse the comments posted by "somebody" I am also with IHUG and have been very satisfied with their service and charges. I am on their "Starter" plan with toll calls at $39.95 /Month. I get 2GB off peak +2GB on peak @ a fairly reliable 1.5 Mbps Down and that is in a semi rural setting. Interestingly, even though IHUG advertises an Up speed of 128Kbps, I regularly measure mine at around 500Kbps! I did in fact research their toll call schedule and found it to be slightly cheaper than Telecom with all the usual specials that Telecom offers. Of perhaps more importance to me is the fact that I am a relative newbie and often need phone support. In this regard IHUG comes up trumps both as regards the time that it usually takes to talk to a person as well as the quality of the advice.(all this as compared to Telecom with whom I USED to deal) :2cents: |

Ummmmmm. 5 Megabytes at 1 Megabyte per second will give you 5 seconds I guess or is that megabits?. 5 MB will give you a few Emails with file attachments. In my Emails today I received four with around 2 Megabyte attachments. In your plan you can maybe get three of these. ahhh, He means 5gig not 5mb. A 5Mb plan would be totally laughable, although I wouldn't put it past Telecom. The World exchange plans are "ok" but there is a few dozen ISP's with plans very similar. There are only several ISP's offering much bigger caps for a fair price like Qrcon and Ihug (a few others). I would go Ihug as they don't throttle anything. Most people are reporting 200KBPS+ speeds even during peek times on Ihug. I suspect the people that are reporting lower speeds are using crappy torrents as a benchmark mistaking there slower speed on Ihug(or other isp's as the case may be). I get 240KBPS during peak times on Ihug with DC++, it doesnt get much better anywhere on a 2MB connection. |

The torrent program itself works fine. It is just IE or Firefox (tried just in case) when I tried and do a serach for a file I am looking for. My cap comes off tonight and back at full speed tomorrow so will try it again then with Paradise proxy server and see what happens. Last tried about 5 days ago. |

Nope still doesn't work through Paradise. Not only that they have not taken my cap off yet either. IE just sits there trying to get the page and never comes back. Firefox does the same. Use another proxy server and it works fine. |
