| 410259 | 2005-12-05 00:33:00 | I'm running a small network with several XP computers and 1 Win2k Pro. Until a few days ago, they networked perfectly. Then something happened. A problem has developed between 1 pair, the Win2K one (call it "A") and one of the XP ones (Call it "B"). A can talk to C, D & E. B can talk to C, D & E. A & B won't talk to each other, except glacially slowly, and with error messages asking about rights and permissions. If A tries to load a file from B (or vice versa) it may take several minutes (where it should be a couple of seconds), or it may just freeze, and the only way out is CTRL-ALT-DELET E. I have tried having A and B in the same workgroup and in different workgroups - no help. I'm aware that there is apparently a limit to the number of connections XP Home can allow on a network, but that was not a problem prviously. Anybody got a quick easy fix...? |
