| 1382512 | 2014-08-25 23:35:00 | Picture shows a remote control situation when family dinner guests arrived last Sat. The devices connect via wifi-direct using a Panasonic app on the phone which shows what the camera sees. I had phone control of play/record, take/stop, video/still-pics, zoom, camera-off, It's easy to set it going. After a one-time set-up, I just press a 'wifi' button on the camera until a tiny blue LED comes on (the camera can be off). Then launch the app on the phone, choose 'TZ40' SSID, and connect. The camera LCD goes dark and with shutter and flash off, nobody noticed it, although guests must have wondered why I seemed to be 'checking my Facebook' so often during dinner! (Techies would also have wondered why there was a 'dead' camera on the shelf with its lens extended) All told, a great app and I got some good footage in fullHD 50i and a few stills. If anyone wants to make provision for a broken LCD I suggest writing down the password before the screen gets broken! I was just able to make it out in spite of the bottom bit of the display missing and the rest corrupted |

| 1382514 | 2014-08-26 01:00:00 | Where do we find the app? I went to Google 'Play' and searched for Lumix. I think it is called Panasonic Image App I forgot to mention that the orange infra-red focus assist lamp comes on when taking still pics. (I was in intelligentAuto mode) I don't know how to turn this off. If you have a TZ40 I would appreciate the location of the setting |
