1381769 2014-08-16 23:46:00 I hope you are joking! I am no more a Nat flunkie, than John Key is a caring human being.

Don't let them upset you, it is their standard ploy.

Politics may be a dirty game on both sides,
but this lot have been badly caught out
and are doing their best to divert public interest away
from their underhanded tactics.

They are only just beginning to get a bit of opposition and are already panicking and grasping at straws.

Public perception is beginning to shift towards the alternatives, which frightens the pants off of 'em.

(Ewww... what ghastly images that conjures up) :D

You have had a look at the most recent polls Dave?

The weakness with polls is that they suffer from what we in the IT industry call latency.
The delay is inevitable, but causes some inaccuracy at any given point, however you are correct, the nats are popular at present, although who can say about election day?
People I have spoken to in recent days are expressing discontent with the arrogance
and underhandedness of the incumbents.

Maybe, but if you were a mole, that is just what you would say :) :banana

You have to be one step ahead and not play their game of deflecting attention away from the main issue (of dirty politics)

Let's take the downplaying stance of saying the site was 'open', Here's Joyce:

"Campaign chairman Steven Joyce early yesterday said he understood Mr Ede had not accessed Labour's records.

But he later changed his mind telling the Herald: "He may have seen it but it was wide open for anyone to see." "

To the ordinary person that would imply you browse to the Labour website and click on the tab or the link that says "click here to access secret party membership details and credit card numbers and heaps of other useful stuff" :)

As we have seen from Slater himself, it needs a bit more nous than that.

Then, selective use of emails: 'Slater said the book was a selective use of emails', as did Clive: "And making selective use of stolen emails to produce a book of unsubstantiated claims of wrongdoing is quite OK?"

But of course, this is just what investigative journalism (and intelligence work) is about, sorting, sifting, correlating, cross corroborating information, piecing together the bits and pieces like a jigsaw puzzle to make a whole picture.

Indeed, but with Achtung as a remark what more was there to say?

1381778 2014-08-18 01:14:00 Stand back two paces and actually listen and digest what JK said.

I listened, but I couldn't digest it because it tasted like shite fresh from the bull-pen.

Actually, there is nothing to digest, and I'm still waiting for our loose-lipped PM to actually say something of consequence that doesn't come dressed with a smirk or a flippant aside.

In addition, it is remarkable to see that how few members of his caucus are trusted to speak to the media, it is almost always the smiling assassin who fronts the reporters and/or camera, which shows how little faith he has in his caucus colleagues, or maybe he's afraid that they might accidentally speak the truth.

'Digesting it' also implies that first you must swallow it.

Cheers
