| 1394229 | 2015-02-18 02:07:00 | I'm 667M from the cabinet (actual cable distance, I have contacts) and get 24/10 so that's fairly consistent. There's more to it that distance though and it's not always obvious how far it is. Mine for example goes the wrong way for a bit then down a side street for 100M before taking a 90 degree turn and heading towards the cabinet so it's longer than you would expect if you drove from my house to the cabinet and measured the trip. I also have older lead-in cable to my house that's not well suited for broadband and I think the cable might be the 0.4mm stuff (3 common sizes in chorus network, 0.4, 0.5, 0.64(I think) smaller = higher loss). All this adds up to less speed than is theoretically possible for a <700M distance. I'm very happy with performance in general though. |

| 1394230 | 2015-02-18 02:52:00 | My cabinet is the old telephone exchange building I believe. It's 350m away and connects via old, original overhead wire. My 34/10 looks good by comparison but who'd have thought the old phone wire has its' advantages? The VDSL installer advised that the full figure would vary over a week or so due to the system automatically determining the maximum speed. I must have picked up 1 or 2 mb only so may not be something to get excited over. I live in a rural zone with lifestyle blocks being the norm so maybe there's simply not the network traffic competition. | Tbird650 (6754) | ||

| 1394232 | 2015-02-18 03:54:00 | There are two problems I'm experiencing. The network adapter loses the router (I guess). I lose connectivity (network and internet) and get the little orange exclamation point in the notification area. This used to happen occasionally, but now is happening more often than not. I used to be able to fix it by disabling/enabling the adapter, but even that doesn't always work now. I updated the drivers and that has made no difference. I actually have an on board adapter and a card, and the same thing happens with both. On only a short test, it doesn't seem to happen with the Win10 preview. I can't use my Windows phone on Wi-fi any more. Nothing connects. |

I'd understood that was the case, but Actrix told me that what I'm getting is probably about it. |

AFAIK the cable goes from the cabinet directly past my house, which is why I'm reasonably confident of the 600m. |

| 1394235 | 2015-02-18 07:09:00 | I've just moved to Now from Xnet and have had all sorts of fun.Had to take my DrayTek2710ne over to them today to sort out the settings. It worked great on Xnet, but won't connect through Now.After half an hour waiting they've loaned me a Netcomm Wireless HB604N, which I also had fun getting to run.Must have been on the phone for an hour all up today, but that's one reason I wanted to go local. Any suggestions on what to get, Chill, if they can't get the DT running, please! |

| 1394236 | 2015-02-18 18:39:00 | The 2710ne doesn't support VDSL2? Edit: neither does the Netcomm modem so in presuming you should have started a new thread about an ADSL issue. Anyways for any router all you need for ADSL is: Encapsulation to VC MUX VCI / VPI to 0/100 Some ISPs take a username or password also That's it :-) |

When you get back online, send us a screenshot of the output in that window, you'll likely need to full screen it. | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||

So by resetting the modem/router back to defaults and entering the new details ( even though they are the same ) it works. |
