1394844 2015-02-22 21:58:00 Hi Nathan,

Can you pleaze clarify this for me.

My work laptop has two OS partitions on it. The main is win 7 and Office 2010 and the second Win 10 Preview with Office 2013.

Normally when I use the Win 7 partition and Outlook 2010 I have to use our VPN client to access my work emails from our exchange server.

If I use the Win 10 partition and Outlook 2013 it just tunnels thru the internet no VPN required and I can access my work email OK.

Is this a function of Win 10 or Outlook 2013??

Thanx in advance..

1394845 2015-02-23 10:06:00 Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013, 2016 all support RPC/HTTP or Outlook Anywhere, so it should work on both of your partitions

Its not a Win10 function

1394846 2015-02-23 23:35:00 Thanx Nathan.. Strange in Office 2010 it won't work without a VPN setup.. I'll try it at home later .. paulw (1826)
1394847 2015-02-23 23:49:00 If your Outlook 2010 isn't configured for RPC over HTTP then it won't work without the VPN connected.
You can get the settings from your Outlook 2013 if that is working.

Just a setup issue
Copy the settings from the Outlook that works without VPN : the exchange proxy settings

Just done that . The settings in Win 7 with Outlook 2010 and identical to Outlook 2013 in Win 10. Outlook 2010 still needs the VPN unless of course it's the VPN client install that's causing the problem. As I have to take my work laptop away with me over the next few weeks I'll leave it until I get some spare time..
