| 411003 | 2005-12-08 04:00:00 | Got one of these, 256bits 128Mb, but it only got 8800 on 3D Mark 2003, which is only 1000 more than my 6600GT. is this normal? Because I'm a bit disappointed as I expected at least 10000. Cheers | michaelqian (9385) | ||
| 411004 | 2005-12-08 05:23:00 | Well you have an LE. The 6600 was a GT. SO not a huge jump in cards there.... Also lots of things can affect your score. Whats rinning in the background for instance. How much system ram you have. And of course, overclocking... |

The LE has slow clock speeds and no DDR3 ram etc. Your score is about right, unfortunately you cannot unlock any pipes on the LE, the best you can do is try for a mild overclock using "Cool bits" or something similar. |

| 411006 | 2005-12-08 09:50:00 | I read on the net you can unlock 4 pipelines on this one. Making it 16 pipelines so same as a 6800GT. But is it safe? Can you lock them again if it doesnt work out? Thanks | michaelqian (9385) | ||
| 411007 | 2005-12-08 10:11:00 | a good site for modding you cards is the forum of anandtech.com, best hardware site going, they know there stuff there! | SolMiester (139) | ||
| 411008 | 2005-12-08 10:48:00 | I just did it with Riva Tuner. 16 Pipelines didn't work out, my screen goes all funny in games. Like the site said it might happen. Now it's a 12 Pipeline and 6 Pixel Vertexes (whatever they called) havn't tried benchmarking yet. Is there a way to get it to 16 pipelines and working perfect? Thanks | michaelqian (9385) | ||

Even with 16 pipes going the LE or vanilla 6800 will never match a 6800GT in performance as they only have GDDR1 ram where the 6800Gt and ultra has GDDR3 ram, which has a huge impact on real world FPS performance, to comment on a earlier post. I stand corrected a bit, many people have got 12 pipes going on the LE (reading back) but not 16. However let us know how you go with testing. |

| 411011 | 2005-12-08 21:59:00 | Since 16 didn't work out, I changed it back to 12 and with all 6 pixles (whatver they called) going. But 3D Mark score is even worse, it's 8868, now I will probably change them all back. | michaelqian (9385) | ||

Because I'm a bit disappointed as I expected at least 10000 . Cheers I have the same card as you and only get 5840 on 3D Mark 2003 . My computer is a P4 2 . 53 533FSB 1gb of 2100 ram Windows XP SP2 . I agree with post above you have wasted your money on this card, abit like me, I wish I had of purchased a FX 6600 GT Trevor :) |
