410770 2005-12-06 22:59:00 Hi,
What one should i buy? I have found both on trademe for around $50.

It will be running in a 1ghz machine on a 4x agp bus (until i upgrade).

Anyone know which ones better?

Thanks
Daniel

410771 2005-12-06 23:12:00 me thinks the 9250 would be best, as the fx5200 has poor shader performance, to the point that nvidia stopped producing them in favor of using the older geforce4mx440

but i doubt its performance your after

410772 2005-12-06 23:15:00 All i wana be able to do is play some better games than FS2002 (I only have a 8mb card at the mo), like Halo, Rallysport, Rise Of Nations, FS2004....plus a few other games.

410773 2005-12-07 01:51:00 I have a Radeon 9250 and also FSim on a P4 1.5mhz 512mb system and it works a treat. Cptn Hotshot (3904)
410774 2005-12-07 02:09:00 Not sure where you will get a Radeon 9250 (128mb) AGP card for $50 on Trademe from. What I have seen is you can expect to pay about $65 + p&P of $7 for a total all up price of $72.

Pricespy will bring up cheaper options (including delivery costs) than what you seem to be able to get on Trademe. My all up cost for a GeCube card about a month ago was $60.

410776 2005-12-07 02:45:00 Whatever you do... DO NOT BUY THE FX200

The 9250 will serve you better, by far.

cheers

Yep ... that is what you should expect to pay which is about $60 +/- once you add GST & P&P. Get it!

Just be aware that a 9250SE is not the same as a 9250. A fully fledged 9250 will set you back about $150. I have a 9250 and a 9550SE, the 9250 will outdrag it easily, I only use the 9550SE as it's got directx 9c features whereas the 9250 is a directx 8.1 card.
SE stands for software enhanced, meaning that the CPU gets passed off a lot of work from the GPU. The SE line usually has a 64 bit memory bus, rather than a 128 bit one.
