411023 2006-01-11 17:49:00 Lol you fool. You are 100% correct about pipes and core, thanks for the lesson on how cores are manufactured, never knoew that..... (scarcasm)

Where you are wrong is, you can never make a 6800LE as fast as a 6800GT

DDR3 ram is substantially faster. DDR1 Native speed on the Le is 700MHZ, DDR3 on the 6800GT is 1000MHZ, this translates into very real speed advantages for the GT, why the HELL else would they bother putting ram on the GT that was double the cost (duh).

Both card memory speeds can be overclocked to similar percentage gains so this is a mute point

By all means Google this yourself, prove me wrong. The LE will always be the down syndrome cousin of the GT, however has a good price/performance ratio.

I never claimed DDR1 was as fast as DDR3 you tard, i mearly said that if the cores that are sold as a 6800LE had all of there pipelines functioning it would be sold as a 6800GT. I never claimed that you can make a 6800LE the same speed as a 6800GT. Next time you decide to try and be the big man perhaps you should read my post properly.

411024 2006-01-12 04:18:00 Umm.... if they dont work then they cant be fixed. They're disabled for a reason, if the extra pipelines worked nVidia would sell it as a 6800GT.

Excuse ME Mr Pete read what you said!!

the extra pipelines worked nVidia would sell it as a 6800GT
the extra pipelines worked nVidia would sell it as a 6800GT

Wrong!!

And that's why I corrected your mistake and you got all pissy about it.

I am right you are wrong, don't be upset, just admit your mistaken statement and move on. Now you look like the tard for trying to change what you said.

**** your an idiot, your wrong . I know what i wrote, what i wrote was correct! You obviously have no idea what your talking about . You didnt correct my mistake because a mistake wasnt made .

411026 2006-01-12 05:10:00 Ive got no idea what you're even on about? The 6800LE and 6800GT are exactly the same cores just with different number of pipeline enabled, the memory interface has no impact on what sort of core the core is. Perhaps you could get down of your high horse of self proclaimed greatness and try to fully explain why you feel im incorrect? I know it might be a struggle for someone such as yourself with a very narrow veiw of the world, but please for my sake and the rest of incorrectly educated world please explain? Pete O'Neil (6584)
411027 2006-01-12 05:23:00 The 6800LE and 6800GT are exactly the same cores just with different number of pipeline enabled
that's true!same cores---NV40. FX4000,68U,68GT,6800,and 6800le with AGP interface are same cores. ;)

I corrected this mistake, I never corrected you concerning pipes or version of core . I corrected you on the above statement due to memory differences between the 6800GT and 6800LE .

Read back!!

You are still wrong

OMG people can't read!

lol memory architecture make his statement incorrect, at NO time did I correct his core or pipe statements!

he said
"if the extra pipelines worked nVidia would sell it as a 6800GT"
"if the extra pipelines worked nVidia would sell it as a 6800GT"

"if the extra pipelines worked nVidia would sell it as a 6800GT"

This is wrong as the 6800Gt come with DDR3 ram

Please paste WHERE I corrected his statement concerning the core or pipes!

I am waiting ..............

Ok so how is that wrong then? You may understand computers, but do you have any understanding of marketing and bussiness? I stand by that statement "if the extra pipelines worked in a 6800LE then nVidia would sell that core to its partners as a 6800GT" . I am correct . The one and only reason for the existance of the 6800LE is to give nVidia an avenue to sell off NV40's that are NOT fully functional (e . g not all pipelines work) . If nVidia had a perfect manufactuering process the 6800LE would NOT EXIST . Mermory interfaces are COMPLETELY irrelevant to this discussion, this discussion is purely based around the GPU, no other part of the graphics board .

I seem to understand better than you, many cards like the 6800STD have had no problem unlocking all 16 pipes.

SO......... that means Nvidia have sold the partners fully function NV40 GPU's. It is the partners that have manufactured these into a 6800STD opposed to a 6800GT, your argument is EVEN MORE FLAWED now, give up!

You and I both know what your statement was about performance, your argument afterwards is just smoke and mirrors in an attempt not to look stupid.

nice try

411032 2006-01-12 05:46:00 I fully understand your arguement, but it is completely irrelevant to my quote. Yet you seem to have little or no understanding of what im saying. I give up trying to reason with you, so seem to have the opinion that you know all and that nobody else can be correct. Enjoy your hollow victory, i have much better things to do with my time than spend it arguing with you.

Toodles Groan :groan:

P.S feel free to post some brilliant reply, im sure the world will be much better off thanks to your infinite wisdom, i for one wont reply or even read the thread.
