410826 2005-12-07 05:52:00 Does Harvey Norman sell any good sound cards for under $100? I got a $100 gift voucher for being the top programmer in my year. Greven (91)
410827 2005-12-07 06:32:00 I connect my computer & stereo via a RCA cable - I don't have surround speakers or an optical in on my stereo or anything fancy like that in case that makes a difference. Greven (91)
410828 2005-12-07 06:40:00 Do Harvey Norman sell standalone soundcards?

You might find a decent s/card on the dick smith site.

Cool!
I didn't get nifty presents like that for doing well at school.
What about just buying a game or something with it?

410831 2005-12-07 11:12:00 Agreed well done Greven

A gift voucher is always good - one question - what is your current sound card , or mobo if you're using onboard sound ?

As Tux mentions HN prices aren't always the keenest , however a " free " [ ie voucher ] soundcard may be just what you need eg a Terratec Aureon 5.1

or even a [ sigh ] creative card - Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit Sound card, 7.1, PCI

Both should be under $100 - where's your closest Harvey Norman ?

Amazes me HN don't have a website in/ for NZ

410832 2005-12-07 19:54:00 nearest Harvey Norman is in invers.

i dont think harvey norman is too bad. Its the cheapest in Invers though. Some of the gear is not too badly priced.

i got a good deal on my new cellphone last week.

410833 2005-12-07 20:07:00 Gah, I went in yesterday, Asked about the Momo they had on special, Salesman tried to palm off a Madcatz wheel instead, said it was the ace, I asked him why he would say that?, he said thats what people told him, I asked what people would tell you that?, I got a blank stare, I then told him I wasn't after a low quality budget wheel, and that the standand wasn't even in the same league of what I was asking about.....

Every time I enter the place I get fed bull****, takes about 2 sentaces for it to start to flow.
