What I want to do is to allow visitors to search my site for particular things.

does anyone know what the html coding is for this?
without having to go into using php etc???????

411527 2005-12-09 10:05:00 This website should give you some information, based on the search box situated at the bottom corner-left of the webpage . http://www . nst . com . my

<!-- SiteSearch Google -->
<FORM method=GET action=" . google . com/search">" target="_blank">www . google . com
<input type=hidden name=ie value=UTF-8>
<input type=hidden name=oe value=UTF-8>
<TABLE bgcolor="D6EBFA" width="130px">
<tr><td>

<A HREF=" . google . com/"><IMG" target="_blank">www . google . com SRC="/Current_News/NST/nstimage/logogoogle . gif"
border="0" ALT="Google"></A>

</td>
</tr>
<td>
<input type=text name=q size=20 maxlength=255 value="">
<input type=submit name=btnG VALUE="Google Search">
<input type=hidden name=domains value="www . nst . com . my"><br><input type=radio name=sitesearch value="">
<span class=content>WWW</span>
<input type=radio name=sitesearch value="www . nst . com . my" checked><span class=content>NST</span><br>
</td></tr></TABLE>
</FORM>
<!-- SiteSearch Google -->
</td></tr>

</table></div></td></tr>
<!-- end GOOGLE search -->

Sorry for not giving you a better and tidier code . :blush:

Cheers :)

411528 2005-12-09 10:23:00 Hi,

Not being an expert in this, I used the Google search utility for our site. You can download the code from the Google site, add it to your index page (or any other page you like) and hey presto! - google search facility on your site.

Easy.

411529 2005-12-09 21:50:00 As much as I like google what I want it to do is only search my site and then post the results on a new page... bubbybrat (8594)
411530 2005-12-10 01:37:00 do I need to have another page set up for it to show the results in?

I have a similar site...layout wise and want to do what you've done on that one

411531 2005-12-10 04:07:00 Unless you use PHP or another server side scripting language, the results will have to be on the site of the site providing the service (I suppose you could put them in a frame or use AJAX to make it look like they are on your site). maccrazy (6741)

Just in case you are wondering what is AJAX, here is a wiki explanation for it: en.wikipedia.org
