| 411186 | 2005-12-08 21:29:00 | Hi, Yesterday a notice appeared stating that an update was available for JAVA i e, v JRE 1.50_06. It took an hour to download and install and also took a lump out of my harddrive available space--a second 57.7 MB ( the previous one had taken 57 MB ). and as I only have 11 Gb space left if I am able to remove it - I surely will do so. On examination they appear to be identical, ie each shows----CHANGES, COPYRIGHT,PATCH,ERROR,Read me , TEXT etc--- both show on each folder. As I see it I should be able to delete the previous folder namely v JRE 1.5_05 and leave JRE 1.50_06. Nowhere can I see that a true update was installed and even "Add / Remove" show a second entry of JAVA Would some kind and knowlegable person advise please? effie c |
