And the Friday night brain may be OK to experiment for myself on Saturday.

There is no secret Laura, as when using the "quote" button you are creating a new post, not editing an existing post. So all text is available to be changed at will. Even the "quoted" text.

I have downloaded ieSpell and checked csapi3t1.dll is installed and I can now spell check in Internet Exp but the spell check function is still disabled in Outlook express and I cant turn it on. tutaenui (1724)

yes i had the same thing
well till i installed an old copy of works from my old comp
now i have sprllchecker working
