412112 2005-12-12 08:01:00 A quick batch file would work, maybe as a Scheduled task using "Windows Scheduler" or in startup etc.

Keep in mind backing up to the same hardrive on another partition has no redundancy if the drive fails. Even backing up to a second drive in the same machine isn't flash either.

Also a disk mirror would be easy to set up, however you will loose the capacity of the 2nd hard drive.

412113 2005-12-12 08:14:00 Hi DC* If you have another drive available, can I recommend that instead of using C drive for your correspondence/documents, use the new drive. I have my programmes on drive C and all data on drive E, which is a second hard drive. If you want to try it and you use Word, go in to Tools > Options > File Locations and under File Types modify the location. Saves the hassle of backing up to the second location. Scouse (83)
412114 2005-12-12 08:26:00 hi how would i set up a Scheduled task to back up when i go into it, it wants me to select which program to use, is there a cheap and easy to use back up program that i could use.

i dont realy want to move my data to another hard drive becasue if that fails my data is lost all i want is to back up a copy od my docs and photos onto another hard drive that i installed just for this reason.
