411913 2005-12-12 03:46:00 I'm looking for a decent wired keyboard and mouse for a new computer. I was hoping to spend under $160 for both. Does anyone have any recommendations for a wired keyboard and mouse?
Many thanks...

411914 2005-12-12 04:02:00 Are you looking for a fully multifunction keyboard with all the whizz-bang extra controls, or a standard nice to use keyboard? What about the mouse, do you require the standard two-button plus scroll or a 5-button plus scroll etc.

Any particular reason you don't want a wireless keyboard/mouse?

411915 2005-12-12 05:30:00 dragonpc.co.nz It's cheap but it's great. Got enough function keys that is needed, it easy to use and comfortable. Highly recommended. Zante (5521)
411916 2005-12-12 06:20:00 Logitech.
They have some combos that have the usual multimedia keys as well and comparable price to that thing from dragonPC which is wireless - he asked for wired!

411917 2005-12-12 09:16:00 The apple keyboards are very good, feel solid and as long as you don't mind white, cost is about $60 and has two usb1.1 ports on the back plod (107)
411918 2005-12-12 09:38:00 Best keyboard and mouse? It all depends on your budget and needs. For example, if you are a hardcore gamer, you might want to go for those gaming-type keyboards that are sold in The Warehouse (though I am not too sure of their performance). As for mouse, go for Logitech. Wired keyboards and mouse generally provide a better performance as the lag is not so obvious than the wireless ones. This could mean between life and death in split-second-matters games.

Cheers :)

411919 2005-12-12 22:37:00 Thanks for all the replies, I prefer wired as I can see no real point in wireless and I also play games on occasions - a wireless keyboard and mouse is just another thing that can go wrong (I also don't like the idea of feeding mice batteries).
I was looking at the Logitech MX518 for mouse and I was looking for a black keyboard for under $80.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
James.

Excellent mouse.
Logitech keyboards are mostly black and they do a variety to suit all budgets.

411921 2005-12-13 07:09:00 It seems the only wired, black, Logitech keyboard is the Media Elite. Has anyone had any experiences with this keyboard? JMoore (9352)
