411779 2005-12-10 22:39:00 Hi there all

This guy has been having a fiddle with the account settings within WinXP Home and has restricted his account and the Administrator account to limited user. (The only accounts/Profiles)
Can't get into the Administrator account and can't change his account type from within his account. Can't edit the registry. He can't install programs or burn CD's/DVD's because of the restrictions.
It is looking like a reinstall unless someone has some bright idea.

411780 2005-12-10 23:05:00 Boot into safe mode and login with the account whose username is Administrator.

Then make other users Computer Administrator accounts as you wish.

411782 2005-12-11 08:26:00 try a restore point before he/she did the damage (hope you dont need to admin account to restore to previous setting)
also boot into safe mode and try "owner" as account name (no password) this is sometimes used by retailers when setting up machines.
