| 413122 | 2005-12-16 04:49:00 | Hi Team recently ive changed to Ihug Wired Country to Wired Country Direct. Got an email from WC to say that no need for a username and password and just need to set up the connection via DHCP and not PPPoE as previously with Ihug. WC closed at 5pm and not sure exactly how to go about this. Was still at work when i got that email. they also said that the CPE wasnt on and turn this on. They also said something about changing my VLAN. Got home and turned on the CPE, but by the time i called WC they were closed. Still just have a built in ethernet card on the pc as from before when i was with Ihug. But im trying to set it up via "create a new connection" and there isnt a mention at all about DHCP. Otherwise im guessing i have to wait till Monday :-( Please help!! Term X |

| 413125 | 2005-12-17 00:47:00 | Okay, seems like something is on the way to working correctly now When the pc boots up, it says "mac address" and then a string of numbers letters like a4 e4 f4 , and it says GUID FFFF FFFFFFF FFFFFFFFF FFFFF then "exit pxe rom" and then boots into windows xp . Then the network icons says "acquiring net work address" for a litttle while before saying that it cant establish a connection, tried repairing it and it said same thing, DHCP is enabled as well . . and set to "obtain IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS address automatically in the tcp/ip settings are there any other settings that i need to do? i was told that this is not a PPPoE connection but a DHCP connection and that i dont need a username and password help me please , cant wait till monday :-( Term X |
