| 413073 | 2005-12-16 00:19:00 | Is this a common thing...recently when I have been using Firefox and I don't have any programs open, my Cpu suddenly spikes to a 100% and everything pretty much freezes... It has already happened a few times today, with the same few sites that I have been browsing today...so I am not sure if it is the website or something with my computer...but I willl be browsing a bunch of other sites today just to see if it only happens with a certain few sites... If it is a comp thing what do you think the problem is? I own a AMD 3500+, Ultra-D NF4 (nvidia) motherboard. Thanks guys. |

| 413074 | 2005-12-16 00:25:00 | It could be something like a trojan/worm running in the background. I would post a hijackthis log here. I dont think Firefox is causing the prob. |

Heavily-peppered flash websites always cause a steep rise of the CPU graph. Best thing to do is to Adblock it. Cheers :) |

| 413079 | 2005-12-16 18:16:00 | Yeah, my CPU goes nuts when viewing certain website. It is does seem to be related to the embedded flash. On some sites if I block the flash it resolves it, on others it makes little difference. Examples are www.tv3.co.nz - this will always wind my CPU up, and I think it is the scrolling headlines which does it on that page. www.village.co.nz - that started doing it as well the other day, but blocking a particular .swf advert fixed it. Sultan_Emerr> All those links you gave are for improperly displayed flash pages and not for having your CPU wind itself up on certain websites which is what bigmit37 issue is. :) |
