| 414129 | 2005-12-20 08:32:00 | Hey guys.. my computer, this is the 3rd time in this month and find it really annoyed and i don't know what is going on... for the last 3 time, (every 3-4 days), the computer froze itself up (particular after all the setting has been loaded inside windows xp pro), once it is stuck, i press the reset, none of the hardware will want to response and it won't boot... Even my monitor is on standby mode if my computer not in use, when the computer is on, it switch itself on as well, but now, the monitor won't get out of its standby mode... Other symptons of this computer especially at my tower, it has the light on when the computer is working, once i press the reset button, that light won't even switch on... The funny thing is after one day rest, the next day is working fine.. I am suspecting that the hard drive is gone berserk, or is it my motherboard has some problem now? or is it the main transformer got some problem, as previously mention, the fan inside the cpu is still working and i am sure my pentium chip is working still too... The last time i run the virus check, it has no any virus detected... and now i have pull out all of my ram and try only put 1 set of 256mb of ram in, the machine won't boot up Any advice will be possible and your help will be much appreciated jacky |

| 414130 | 2005-12-20 08:43:00 | Well, you could either post another HJT log here . Or get some program to monitor the temp, or check the BIOS if its there, and see what the temps show . Depending on what brand/model the mobo is . Some mobo manufacturers have their own temp monitoring programs . |

| 414131 | 2005-12-20 09:06:00 | i cant put the log here as my machine is still not willing to wake up from this sickness... well, how it begans was think, the first time i was watching the Farmers Advertising material on DVD at my computer... then i felt asleep... (as u know most of the ads that you saw on the tv will be around like 30 second) then after i woke up, like 30min later, the machine lock itself up... press the reset button, and it just won't boot up at all.. This computer motherboard don't have the temperature program, as this computer is a pentium 4 1.7MHz, it works goods on me because i only used that for doing my assignment and work.. no games... sometimes just watch a bit of DVD, thats it!!! the computer only installed the essential use software, update regularly, norton check every fri 8pm... and update virus definition list regularly!!!, internet address, no, don't goto the porn site, only watching newspaper, xtra and job search site.. |
