414588 2005-12-22 00:22:00 The option isn't called "Display manufacturer's logo". It's an HP BIOS. ;)

But there is an option. It might be just called something like "fast/slow boot" ... I think it's in the "Advanced" page. I turned it off for my Brio box, but turned it back on after a while. That screen displays reminders of the F1, F2 , F8 options, and since I have no two computers with the same F keys, I need all the reminders I can get.

Don't be frightened of the BIOS setup. Explore it. You can't do any damage if you remember that it only saves changes if you tell it to. You can just "escape out" if you're in doubt. Or even just turn the power off.

414590 2005-12-22 08:20:00 i'll bet it has always been happening, however the screens often don't fire up and display it ie the splash screen is always there, the monitor just wasn't on to display it. for some reason your screen is turning on a fraction earlier or the pc is running slighly slower which is why your actuall seeing it now. if you have added hardware latly it could be thats slowing the pc boot slightly which is gives the monitor enough time to turn on and display the splash screen.

Most usefull thing I've read for a while.
