| 415237 | 2005-12-23 12:03:00 | I have 2 hard drives, and there is a 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in my system tray (?) that lists the two hdd's when I click it. Is this meant to happen? | mejobloggs (264) | ||

| 415239 | 2005-12-23 19:03:00 | Me again! :p A bit of googling later, as sATA drives can be hot-swapped it is normal for the drives to have a "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the systray. I presume you have sATA drives. I also presume it would be very unwise to select "Safely Remove Hardware" on the disk which runs your OS  In fact, I wonder if you can select not to have the sATA drives to display that systray notification, as I can see it would be easy for people to accidently disconnect the main drive while using it. Someone with experience with sATA drives and XP might be able to comment further on this. |
