2005-12-27 01:51:00 | I'm having some troubles with my CLK_RATIO settings. I have a GA-7N400 mobo, and an AMD XP 2600. it will only run at 1883.07 MHz, it was running a little faster, until i played with the clk switches on the mobo and it slowed it down, not boosted it! I changed it back to how it was EXACTLY but now its slower. Does anyone know what settings I should have it on for the best performance? It shows the CLK_RATIO table in the manual, but it may aswell be in Russian for me.... My brother has an AMD XP 2400 and it is running at 1967.05 MHz... I cant understand why it is faster? :dogeye: thanks!

FSB = 333 Multiplier = 12.5 Should be running at 2075MHZ setting your board to defaults should let it auto detect the correct settings though unless you've been playing with jumpers |

2005-12-27 07:21:00 | i had it on auto-detect, but it was still running at a slower clk speed, so then i manually set it to those specs u told me, but it is STILL running at the slower speed, and i have checked, i do have a proper AMD XP 2600... :dogeye:

2005-12-27 17:22:00 | im pretty sure mine has a core at 333, is there any program i can use to tell me what kind of core i have?Try CPU-Z (www.cpuid.com). | Jen (38) | |
2005-12-28 07:46:00 | ok, i used that program (thanks Jen!) and I've got a Barton, 333... so it should be running at around 2000 right? I've looked on the net for the correct jumper settings, and everywhere says different things all the time, I've tried many but all to no avail, it either underclocks it further or remains the same... :groan:

2005-12-28 08:22:00 | Have you got the manual for the motherboard? This will tell u what the settings SHOULD be. Or email Gigabyte, if this is a gigabyte mobo. Or join a gigabyte newsgroup.

2005-12-28 08:37:00 | Are we talking about a GA-7N400 Pro Rev 2 mobo? If we are, in one newsgroup, it says (this is for 2700+ tho). The 2700 should be running about 2167MHz. EasyTune4 will tell you the actual. That is the desired results when the the the FSB ( as Gigabyte calls it) is 166MHz and multiplier switches are set at X13.
