415521 2005-12-24 10:47:00 Just given my brothers computer a MUCH needed dusting and cleaning of his components.

What I've found is that the Heatsink which is supposed to be on top of the northbridge circuit is half on and half off.
I tried to fix it by putting the pin back on but it keeps falling off Dammit

So now its currently running nude with nothing to cover that area. It had been doing that for quite a while apparently.

I take it that its not very safe to do so? What alternatives are there to getting the Heatsink back on? (preferbly as cheap and safe as possible)

The motherboard is a Asus P4PE-Lan

415523 2005-12-24 20:00:00 I've uploaded an image (www.imagef1.net.nz)
Left picture on bottom is the bit that keeps popping off.
Right picture is how it sorta should look when on

There were four of them clips, but when I had a look only three were there.
Two of them are still stuck onto the mobo.
The third one is that one in the picture. I ca put it back onto the mobo but after 5 mins it wil pop off suddenly.

That blue Coolermaster one at OCNZ looks very reasonable about now.
And its held by thermal paste which is probably what I need.
