416243 2005-12-28 22:18:00 Happy Holidays!
computer: WinMe; 15Gb Quantum Hdd; 256 Mb SDRam; AMD Athlon XP 1.4Ghz processor
When on the internet gets "dangerously low on resources" or not enough memory to complete the operation.
I have done a complete scan for virus, spyware, tested the hard drive: resulted in 1-critical structure error and 1-non-critical structure error, one or more orphaned data blocks found, invalid file size - 1, invalid free space value - 1, removed unnecessary boot up programs in msconfig.

Can the hard drive errors be the cause of the dangerously low on resources error or is there another reason?
Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated.

416245 2005-12-28 22:40:00 Sounds like you have adequate hardware, in particular since you're using Windows Me.

You might take a look at the task manager "processes" tab, and sort by "mem usuage" to see what's burning up the RAM.

If you have enough disk space, you may want to increase the size of your paging file.

416246 2005-12-28 23:29:00 its not an ram issue. most likly you are running way to many things at ones, including virus, spyware and legit programs.

disable any thing non critical in startup (msconfig) and do the usuall virus/spyware scan etc.
