Just give your name and email address and they'll keep you informed of progress. Over the last month or so, received a couple of email updates and all seems good. Tonight, the big annoumcement - it's all go after midnight. - but now they tell us, the free 30 day trial needs all your credit card details (oh, but they WON'T charge you !! ) Then at the end of the 30 days, they'll "...email you a reminder when it's coming to an end...". This sort of "Opt-out" practice is SHODDY and it should be "Opt-in". When are these companies that seem to be dominated by marketing people ( rather than technical people) realise that this is the sort of thing that puts hestitant customers right OFF. ! |

If you miss the email telling you the month is ending or you get busy and forget it yourself, you end up with a bill. As a Telecom employee you should not be blindly supporting your boss - start thinking like a real customer. |

You can't get a trial of quikflix or Netflix etc without putting in credit card details. It would have been nice to see them be different though! |

I never have and never expect to be a Telecom/Spark employee, so your attitude can stuff right off thank you. All you're here to do is have a whinge it seems, without even looking in to what you're whinging about, so you're not only ignorant but make yourself look like a fool. You're the sort of person where if they did it the other way, you'd come here and whinge that after your free trial, your service stopped because you forgot to go and put your card details in! I really should learn not to feed the trolls. |

| 1382659 | 2014-08-27 21:49:00 | Personally I'm looking forward to getting to try Lightbox. Unfortunately I've seen a lot of the content on there already. Hopefully they're able to bring more content from channels like comedy central over in future. It's worth noting that some shows don't have every episode online, ie you can only watch top gear seasons 6 -13 on the site. | icow (15313) | ||

Yeah, I too am hoping they continue to add content, and if possible look to 'backfill' the gaps in their programming. One of the big holdups around adding content from new sources will be rights, Sky still have exclusive rights for some of the content providers here :/ |

| 1382661 | 2014-08-27 22:02:00 | One simple question.... do any major online TV/Movie streaming services offer a free trial WITHOUT needing a credit card first ?? I think thats the norm for many things now. Nothing sinister, just their system is setup that way. You'll need to open an a/c with them to get the free trial, & by default that requires a credit card. Its also a way of stop people continuously signing up under different name, & never paying anything. That would surely happen otherwise. But I agree, many will be reluctant to trial it if they have to hand over CC details first. I notice b8gger all details on the website eg , resolution/quality of the streamed tv/movies . Bandwidth & data requirements. etc |

They will want to address that soon, I hope. In regards to that, depending on the show, resolutions available are 360p, 720p and 1080p, with a maximum bitrate of 5Mbps, which they'll no doubt look to increase once they have metrics to confirm the platform will handle it satisfactorily. There's currently no way to 'select' your resolution or bitrate, it's automatic-only, which would be another nice addition. |
