2014-08-27 09:01:00 | "The world's leading expert on the poisoning of the oceans has described how he was "utterly shocked" by the true amount of plastic floating on the sea, warning that it potentially posed a bigger threat to the planet than climate change." HERE (www.nzherald.co.nz)

2014-08-27 09:13:00 | Up to 40% of the ocean is affected. I'm amazed they didn't state up to 87.375% is affected, it would be just as correct. ;) Tui sales should be booming.

2014-08-27 10:16:00 | Went on a cruise in March. Oz to Singapore via Thailand & Vietnam. Amazing how much plastic crap can be seen as you stand and look out over the rail. Oil sludge as well, especially in areas where drilling rigs can be seen. Pretty disappointing really. Never been a Greenie but I can now understand why they bang on about pollution. The late Peter Blake said much the same as I have. Ken. :(

Or it will fall to the benthic layer and eventually become incorporated into the mantle or crust again. For the next intelligent species that evolves from the ruins of this mess to drill or mine for.. |

2014-08-27 10:51:00 | If the Gov't compels us to put our plastic in the sea, I'd guess the flow of plastic would stop almost overnight. Or, even quicker, call it iCrap, put sales booths on the foreshore, announce the supply is strictly limited and very expensive, then just wait for midnight when sales start. ;) | R2x1 (4628) | |
