1383660 2014-09-12 21:53:00 National are like a job a necessary but unwanted intrusion into the pleasures of life. Necessary to remind us all of what not to do when given a leadership role *&&k it up. gary67 (56)

Well you can draw some comfort from the fact that I’ve also crossed out National along with Labour and the Greens. :D

Which leaves me in a quandary. :D

But seriously, the Greens, their leaders haven’t got the credentials to run a “Tinny House” let alone a Country.

So, let’s look at the Green Leaders qualifications and experience again:

Russel Norman is a "former" Marxist and current co - leader of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Norman was born in Brisbane, Australia, and worked a number of unskilled roles after dropping out of medical school. Norman moved to New Zealand in 1997 saying this was to observe the red-green Alliance coalition. He wrote his political science PhD thesis on the Alliance, and was active within the party editing its party newsletter. Whilst living in Australia, Norman was involved with the Socialist Workers' Party (a revolutionary Marxist-Leninist organisation) for several years.[

He was also a member of Resistance-the youth wing of the Australian Democratic Socialist Party. The Democratic Socialist Perspective (DSP) was an Australian Marxist political group, which operated as the largest component of a broad-left socialist formation, the Socialist Alliance. In 2010, the DSP voted to merge into the Socialist Alliance.

He worked at a variety of jobs in Australia. Listing some of these, and in chronological order:
1988, Nurses Aid.
1989-90, Sheetmetal worker.
1990-2, Car assembly-line worker.
1994-5, Gardener...

He arrived in New Zealand in 1997, worked on an organic farm for a while, and in 2002 entered politics standing for the Greens.

Metiria Leanne Agnes Stanton Turei (born 1970) is a New Zealand member of Parliament and the female co-leader of the Green Party alongside Russel Norman.

Between 1989–1991, Metiria was the Tumuaki o Te Iwi Maori Rawakore o Aotearoa and involved with Te Roopu Rawakore o Aotearoa. Metiria was a founding member of the Random Trollops performance art troupe. She was a candidate for the McGillicuddy Serious Party in the 1993 election and for the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party in the 1996 election.

She joined the Green Party in 2002 and was elected as co-leader at the Green Party AGM in 2009. Apart from her being a part of the Random Trollops, she doesn't appear to have held down a job of substance.

So there you have it, the ideal leaders to have if you wish to live in a cave.

1383662 2014-09-13 19:03:00 Good grief, the Greens aren’t a Political Party, they are a Religion posing as a Political Party.
...

If it wasn’t for having to take a substantial pay cut, I’m sure Bishop Tamati would have been right up front in the Greens. :D

Yeah, you end up voting for one of them in the end anyway.

True, the more I think about it, the more it becomes a waste of time voting at all.

It's like choosing which disease you'd prefer to die from. :groan:

1383665 2014-09-14 00:26:00 I guess in the interest of fairness I should explain why I’ve struck out National and Labour also . :D

National:

They started off by ignoring the referendum on the No Smacking Bill by claiming it was non-binding, even though 87 . 6% of the people wanted it repealed .

They also ignored the referendum on Asset Sales .

They upped GST to 15% on everything . (Australia has 10% GST and unprocessed food is exempt . )

They introduced Carbon Tax which along with the increased GST pushed our petrol prices up to 70c a litre dearer than Australia .

They pursued their Separatist Policies by giving the Foreshore and Seabed to the Maoris . They also gave them One Tree Hill, Mount Eden, Mount Maunganui (the mountain not the township) along with thousands of acres of forestry and land accompanied by millions of dollars for dodgy Treaty Claims . The list goes on . They have also opened the backdoor for Iwi to negotiate further with Government directly, avoiding the Courts .

I understand they have now signed (in secret) the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People although having first opposed it as it conflicts with the Treaty of Waitangi and our other laws . (Personally I don’t believe the Maoris are an indigenous race but that’s another matter)

They promised 1000’s of jobs but didn’t deliver .

As for Labour:

Well it’s hard to say what their policies are, if indeed they have any .

Seem to me they’re all Hat and no Cattle .

But the crunch for me was this nonsense: “Labour wants half its MPs to be women” .

I would have thought that the best person for the job would have been the criteria, regardless of gender .

HERE ( . co . nz/politics-news/labour-wants-half-its-mps-women-5487944" target="_blank">tvnz . co . nz)

But let’s face it, there are so many factions among Labour who hold different views on everything, they are totally disorganised and thus unable to run anything let alone a Country .

So what do we do?

Well the best I can come up with is: National will get the majority of seats simply by default and our best option is to get the Conservatives & NZ First in also who should put a stop to the “Asset Sales” and “Separatist Policy’s” of National at least .

In other words “The Horse needs a Bridle and a Rider” . ;)

1383666 2014-09-14 00:32:00 It really is about time that we had electoral reform to introduce the Anti-Vote system, ie to be able to vote against a person or party.

You could get an interesting situation where a person gets more votes against than for.......
