| 1382868 | 2014-09-02 00:50:00 | When I first got windows 8 I played around with the new apps for a while but over time I find I have migrated back to desktop versions of everything and don't use any of the new apps now. With their giant text (in some cases) and simplified looks they do seem best suited to touch based devices. One of the things I personally like about windows 8 is that you have the option to use whatever you prefer. A couple of the default apps that I do kinda like are the music and video apps. The music app allows you to stream a lot of music for free with just the occasional add and the video app allows you to rent and stream HD movies which is one of the few such services that work in NZ (range is limited though). A weird quirk is that setting your default browser to something other than IE removes the app version of internet explorer from the start screen. Not that relevant but I thought I'd mention it :) |
