1395479 2015-03-01 07:26:00 Microsoft just released Windows 7 ISO's 3 days ago winsupersite.com

Just go to the Microsoft Recovery Website www.microsoft.com ,Enter your product key and download the ISO and burn to a DVD

The only thing that costs $$$ is the Key if you don't have That site is wrong again so it appears, the same site was suggested a while back, and just like now wont accept any W7 keys I've tried.

The site I suspect used to be connected to digital River, the location Microsoft stores store their ISO's.

Was this what you were referring too?

Yep same site as a few weeks back. Have a look at the other post and speedy even advised. Tried again tonight with 4 different W7 keys, OEM & Retail, Home and pro editions, all the same thing.

Try it yourself and see if it works for you.

1395482 2015-03-01 09:02:00 Assuming you have a legal product key and you read the ISO link above but want to make sure Phone Microsoft for clarification.
Despite their often quoted "poor response" I have always fount them very helpful.
I do recall however that when I went to set up Win 7 64 bit on a new Hard disk ( I had legal Win 7 32 bit) that the instructions were a bit brief re ISO files so searched on various forums and eventually "got there".

1395483 2015-03-01 18:44:00 Hi all, got myself into trouble
I let someone else use my laptop whilst I was away, when i come back they said win 7 was going crazy so they installed XP on it,.

No you didn't.
Well I hope you took that someone else out back and beat them to pulp......take it in to a tech, get the tech to sort your images out and get it back to how it was and then send the bill to that person.

1395484 2015-03-01 19:11:00 Assuming you used the inbuilt windows 7 tool to create the image to restore it you need to boot off either a windows install disk or a system repair disk. You can make the repair disk from another windows 7 machine if you don't have either.
Try these sites for instructions
windows.microsoft.com
windows.microsoft.com
