| 1395236 | 2015-02-27 05:29:00 | Do I have to run it from the exe file everytime I want to use it ? Yes, in Windows most programs exist as executable (exe) files. If you want to use any of them, you have to run the exe file. How else would you do it? Telepathy? :illogical And why does it always say I need to be an administrator when I am the only user? HJT needs administrator privileges to read from the registry etc. Windows Vista and later are set by default to warn you when a program needs to do such things, because viruses etc require access to the registry, thus an unknown program doing such things may be a virus, so Windows warns you.... It doesn't matter if you have 1 user account or not. It's part of the Windows UAC security system which is a separate thing. You can turn it off if you want, though it does provide a small layer of protection against really badly witten viruses. |
