2015-02-26 05:05:00 | Puppy is only 160M . designed for old PC's & laptops , older & slower than you Acer . At least it would be a quick download. :-) actually that Acer wont have a CD ? , so you'll want something that can run from a USB mem stick ? Just looking at website puppylinux.org and it says RAM of 2 GB is required by the ISO! Only have 1 gb

2015-02-26 05:09:00 | I just suggested to PJ in another thread to try ElementaryOS, it's very slick and nice, not terribly high requirements either. Otherwise, I used to use these back in the day on my netbook: http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/ I tried this off USB. Seem to start up okay. Reset time, no problem. Could n't find wifi, but cable plugged in. Found browser and checked NZ Herald site, all good then went to Gmail and locked up. Tried Esc, Alt F4 and a few others, but stayed locked. Had to turn power switch off and restart. Not sure what happened????

2015-02-26 22:34:00 | Just looking at website puppylinux.org and it says RAM of 2 GB is required by the ISO! Only have 1 gb puppylinux.org " People have succeeded in running Puppy with a 333MHz CPU and 64MB. However having 256MB RAM and a 512MB swap file is more realistic." Your were looking at a different(wrong) version.

2015-02-26 23:08:00 | Not all hardware works with puppy - it's free to try though so no real issue. I had an old celeron Asus EePC and it just wouldn't work, some sort of graphics driver issue. | dugimodo (138) | |
2015-02-27 04:02:00 | I've now removed Mint and install Ubutu 14.04, so about speeling. Spell check not work. Grrrrr Have not been able to find the Chrome OS. Anyone have a link, for loading on flash drive? Thanks

2015-02-27 05:35:00 | I'd use Lubuntu on an old laptop. It's what I use on my EeePC 701, with the ForcePAE kernel option.... | Agent_24 (57) | |

I had an old celeron Asus EePC and it just wouldn't work, some sort of graphics driver issue. I sometimes run it on my HP mini 110, originally with 1Gb ram and now 2 Gb. I ran it on an older model of the same laptop too. I often use it for testing stuff out as it boots so fast off a USB drive |
