I have a brand new HP Laptop and whenever I try to load Google Earth the screen will flash black like the computer was reset, then flicker back up and from the clock area of the task bar there is a pop up bubble saying "Display driver stopped responding". It then asks if I want to open it in GL or DirectX (I think that's what it said anyway) but both give me the same "Display driver stopped responding" error. Any ideas what could be causing this? |

Check the HP website for new graphics drivers, they may have fixed the issue in a new release. Alternatively you can check device manager for what type of graphics hardware your laptop has and go direct to the graphics chipset manufacturer - Nvidia, AMD, and Intel being the 3 most common ones. Also make sure windows and google earth are updated with the latest updates. |

Hi dugimodo, I tried what you suggested and it worked for about 5 mins then went black again and came up with the same error so I have no idea what it's problem is, this notebook is brand spanking and up to date as far as I can tell :( |
