1395939 2015-03-08 02:16:00 Currently the keyboard www hotkey opens the UI/Metro IE window.
How can it be changed to open the desktop IE window.

1395940 2015-03-08 04:03:00 Two ways ( both end in the same place) Open the Control panel -- (Right click the start/Control Panel) - Internet Options - Under The programs Tab, from the drop down box select use desktop.

2nd way manually open the desktop IE - Tools/ Internet Options -- then as above.

1395941 2015-03-08 06:54:00 Ah, sort of.
That dosent remap the hotkey to the IE icon in the taskbar.
It opens the UI/Metro window in desktop mode.
I also had to put a tick in the "Open explorer tiles on the desktop" box to make it work.
The desktop taskbar icon opens IE in google as the home page, the preferred option.
The UI/Metro window opens in Omniboxes.com.
That's why I want to remap the hotkey.

1395942 2015-03-08 08:06:00 If that didn't work ( should have) You need to go into the Keyboard settings and remap it then to the desktop IE.exe Have you rebooted since then, some settings wont take effect till thats done. wainuitech (129)
1395943 2015-03-08 09:14:00 Rebooted twice.
First time nothing changed.
Then I put the tick in the box.
Had already tried remaping, but when you push the key to set the hotkey it just opens the retro browser.
