1395469 2015-03-01 02:55:00 Hi all, got myself into trouble and I can't work it out, I was running win 7 on my laptop and I have got 3 win 7 system image cd's plus a repair cd, but not a win 7 installation disc from microsoft.
I let someone else use my laptop whilst I was away, when i come back they said win 7 was going crazy so they installed XP on it, of course I wasn't happy so i formatted the drive using the XP cd, then I tried to using my system image discs to get back my win 7, hoping I could get win 7 back on it but nothing is working, something I am doing wrong or can't you use system image discs this way?
So any help would be fantastic.
thanks
Leslie.

1395470 2015-03-01 03:36:00 Are any of these images an ISO? If they are, it needs to be burned to dvd first Speedy Gonzales (78)
1395471 2015-03-01 03:40:00 Thanks for your reply, when i done them they were suppose to be bootable, how can i check ?
A bit more info-
When I put the first image disc in it just says-
Non -System disc or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready

So I put in the win 7 repair disc in it says-
windows is loading files, keyboard option comes up,
then i get up to restoring then i get-

The system image has failed
Error details: the specified list of volumes to recover contains duplicates.

1395472 2015-03-01 04:01:00 Looks like you may have to go to your Recovery Partition(if you have got one) and boot from that, sure you won't have any saved files

Most came with a Recovery Partition (Compaq,HP,Dell etc)

1395473 2015-03-01 04:19:00 Thanks but I used diskpart to format as well.
Is there a way to make those discs into ISO ?

1395474 2015-03-01 04:45:00 How did you create the image disks if you did it yourself ? dugimodo (138)
1395475 2015-03-01 04:53:00 It was a while ago now, but I followed the directions from a web page, probably a bad mistake as I thought they would be bootable. Leslie (14058)
1395476 2015-03-01 05:05:00 You just need a Windows 7 ISO and you have the Key,should be straight forward Lawrence (2987)
1395477 2015-03-01 05:22:00 I was trying not have to buy a win 7 installation disc, as not to rich right now. Leslie (14058)
1395478 2015-03-01 05:36:00 Microsoft just released Windows 7 ISO's 3 days ago winsupersite.com

Just go to the Microsoft Recovery Website www.microsoft.com ,Enter your product key and download the ISO and burn to a DVD

The only thing that costs $$$ is the Key if you don't have
