| 1382847 | 2014-08-31 04:10:00 | Finally got around to installing 8.1, having a play around - a bit of a learning curve but not too bad at all; looks to be far nicer than 7. Just a question for the people who have had it for a while - are there any really good modern apps for a non touchscreen laptop? The ones I've had a play around with have all been disappointingly poor. |

Not going to open a can of worms like PCUSER said, But have you actually used for a while the latest windows ( and I mean for a few months not just 5 minutes) . Many here once said it was bad, but after its improvements those same people have now stated differently. | wainuitech (129) | ||

Designed to be :p - I can already do anything I need to on the desktop, was just wondering what really well designed (For mouse + keyboard) modern apps there are, regardless of what they actually do. |

Some nice design improvements on the desktop. 3. Does everything Win 7 does and more 4. Could upgrade from 7 HP to 8 Pro for $89, so why not? |

Just look on the store, AGAIN theres to many to mention. You need to define more as to what to do. Games, Business, Social Media ??? 5904 Some are free some are paid. |

| 1382855 | 2014-08-31 09:54:00 | As I said, really not looking for anything in particular, just looking, and wondered what apps people who already use 8.1 were really impressed by. That having said, a modern app that can read .docx files would be nice if you know of a good one. |
