| 416774 | 2005-12-31 05:31:00 | I am using Windows XP and Outlook and I have Norton AntiVirus 2004. When I am trying to send an e-mail through my Yahoo! account when Norton scans it it comes back with a message saying please re-send the message the connection with you mail program was lost or something like that. So really I can't send any e-mails properly. I have tried disabling Norton E-mail Scanning but I can't as my options menu is hiding somewhere which is what I need to go into to disable it according to Norton's online help service. Any Ideas???? ~Matt |

| 416775 | 2005-12-31 08:21:00 | I would have thought a new computer would come with the latest version of Norton's as 2006 is now available. When we got our computer in 2001 it had Norton's 2002 version. Can you send emails from Outlook Express or whatever email programme is installed on your computer? Somewhere in the email scanning you should turn off scanning of 'outgoing' mail but do have it turned on for 'incoming' mail. It has been ages since we had Norton's so I can't remember exactly where to go to make the changes. I am now very happy with Avast for antivirus protection. Pauline. |

The computer is like 2 weeks old and so yea we got it 4 xmas so it probably should have but then again this is the one that came from Nec (Norton wasn't actually inclued in like a box like included software) I believe I can send them from another e-mail account using Outlook and I think some of the e-mails that I have sent that it said it had blocked are actually coming through (because I sent a copy to myself to check) I know I should be able to turn off e-mail scanning but I can't get into the options menu. I'll see later if I can try to post a screen shot. Thanks for your comments. ~Matt |
