| 416636 | 2006-01-09 05:20:00 | so the latest trick is people setting the avatar on forums to be a infected jpg. there is also a few msn messanger virus that will send pictures to all your friends and infect them too. the patch is out and has not broken anything I know of, get the patch. sound like the offical patch is almost the same as the un-offical patch, like MS may have even used the code created by Ilfak Guilfanov, the problem with this is it has not fully fix the problem, it is likely that another exploit using WMF will be found soon. the MS patch is only for XP & 2K if you have 9X or ME then you may want to look around of an un-offical patch. get the patch get the patch get the patch get the patch |

| 416637 | 2006-01-09 20:20:00 | my 98se system appears to be immune. go 9x My linux system appears to be immune. go linux! :p I run AVG, ZAhome, CCleaner, Adaware, Spybot S & D and use firefox and I occassionally stray from the beaten track of the Intrawebbotnet to those dark back streets alluded to. I keep a close eye (and ear) on what's going on, frequeuntly clear the cache, clean up after every session finally with CCleaner, and sometimes go into DOS (98se) and deltree the index.dats. I run... firefox... or mozilla, depending on which takes my fancy at the time. And ahh, thats it. God its great not having to deal with all those spyware, antivirus, and firewall programs anymore... ahhh... :D bear in mind, i haven't modified this install of suse 10 at all, just a straight install, you windows n00bs don't know what you're missing out on. nahh nahh! :p :p :p |
