417478 2006-01-02 22:04:00 Any idea why my Nortons is not catching it? My auto protect is on and my definitions are up to date as of 12-30-05. new2424 (8187)

417480 2006-01-02 22:12:00 Some programs may catch it, some may not.

Have you done a scan recently with Nortons?

What version of Nortons is it? 2003? 04? 05? 06?

If 2003, I would check its virus list and see if Topsearch is in it.

417482 2006-01-02 23:32:00 Im running 2003 Norton system works. I just did a One Button Checkup and everything was ok. I checked the virus list and Topsearch isn't on there. I guess i need to upgrade to 2006? what is NIS 2006?

Norton Internet Security?
Is this an add on or a replacement for my system works?

Thats it Norton Internet Security .

Dunno, if Systemworks, has it or not, I've never used systemworks .

Just use programs like Adaware and spybot to scan for spyware/adware entries . These are free to use .

www.ewido.net (http://www.ewido.net/)
make sure you update it online after installation
you could also post an hjt log

also as speedy said there are better programs arounf than adwarealert

adaware & spybot are 2 of them
