418271 2006-01-04 22:26:00 I have one of those 512MB Transcend USB drives. When I plug it in, XP pops up a window that contains a bunch of options:
- Print the pictures
- View a slideshow of images
- play
- play video files
- open folder to view files using Explorer
- take no action

How can I stop this window from appearing forever?

Choosing "take no action" does nothing to stop it from reappearing next time I plug in the USB drive.

Many thanks!

418272 2006-01-04 22:30:00 Try putting it back in, right mouse on it / properties / autoplay tab.

Select Actions. Then change to take no action down the bottom, then OK.

See what happens then.

418274 2006-01-04 22:40:00 Nope - that isn't working. Next time I plug it in, there's the window again. Maybe a reg setting somewhere. Thanks though :) braindead (1685)
418275 2006-01-04 22:44:00 Hmm OK . lol mines the other way round .

I'm using a 256mb transcend USB key . (I use it as a bootdisk, for DOS / updating the BIOS) . Since, I've removed / disabled floppy access .

Plug it in it doesnt bring up the dialog, it just opens . I havent seen the dialog popup yet, when I use this .

I think it depends on whats on it . I had some text/exe files on this .

It wouldnt open . I had to click on it, in My computer . Delete the text / exe files, except the bootfiles, it opens by itself, when you plug it back in .
