| 418412 | 2006-01-05 06:35:00 | Hi everyone, Have Dell P4 machine, running XP Home Edition with SP2. Have a Ricoh Caplio R1 digital camera and has run fine with PC for several months since purchase. Have encountered issue connecting camera and receiving an error message under Control panel - device driver, Caplio R1 properties box and the error message is shown below "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)" I have uninstalled the Caplio software several times, and run the Registery Mechanic that came with PC World recently to tidy up registery, however when PC rebooted, it detects the camera then comes up with a balloon in System Tray to effect this device does not seem to be working properly. Camera takes phots fine, can place SD card in a card reader and place photos on PC, so issue seems to be drivers/screwed up registery. Any help put there people would be much appreciated. Thanks Tony I have |

Thanks, yes bought a card reader after buying camera when I relised that I could not edit photos and then save back to camera, which does not act as a mass storage device. |
