Hello all. I have a big zip file (over 2GB) that I wish to cut into 3 parts so that I can put on CDs and mail to someone. how can this be done? thnx. |

You do it from within Winzip itself - either zip into different segments or zip especially to fit a certain size. |

Yes you can do it with Winzip, it is called Multiple Disk Spanning. Open up Winzip and click on the Help menu and in the search type Multiple Disk Spanning and it well till you how to do it. Another option is called Split Zip Files, check that out as well.

If you still have the original files which were used to produce the ZIP file, produce a spanned version. If not, just use a zip compressor on the .zip file to produce a spanned version. Compression tools don't care what sort of data they are working on. At the worst there is a slight increase of size, but mostly they recognise input which can't be compressed and just produce a copy in the archive file. ;) |
