418236 2006-01-04 04:07:00 I wish to put all my Music and Picture files onto DVD discs so I can free up my HD, the music is in MP3 format the pictures are a mixture of jpeg and bmp.

I have a CD-RW/DVD combo drive and a Dual Layer DVD ReWriter
I have Nero but am a novice in how to use it.

Please can anyone please help me? :)

418237 2006-01-04 04:19:00 Hmm, if u have a stereo or something that plays MP3 cd's, all you have to do is run Nero Express, select Music / MP3 Disc. And add the MP3's as is.

You'll get a lot more songs on a cd, than you would, if you were burning / making an Audio CD.

I think, if you want to make an MP3 DVD, you may need Nero 7, which I did have, but its way too buggy in some parts. BUT Nero 6 will let you make MP3 CD's and Audio CD's (You may or may not need plugins tho), for some of Nero's options.

If you want Audio CD's, you run Nero Express and select Music / Audio CD, instead of MP3 Disc. For pics, Nerovision Express, (which is part of Nero), should burn the pics for you.

Run this and select CD / videocd, or Super video cd.

What version of Nero have you got?

418238 2006-01-04 05:06:00 I interpret the request as simply wanting to archive the files so they can be removed from the hard drive, not one of wanting to put them in a format for playing on external devices?

Use either a DVD-R or DVD+R blank disk in the drive.

Use Nero and select DVD.
Select DVD Data Disk
Add files until it reached 4.7 GB as shown by the dotted line on the bottom scale.
Then select Burn.

Make sure you also select "verify files" on the last page before it burns the disk, as that will tell you that all files are OK and none have become corrupted.
Do not tick "multisession"

Test the DVD in the drive to make sure you can access the files OK, view images and listen to mp3's once its burnt the disk and verified with no errors.

Then delete all the files that you put on the CD from the hard drive.
