| 419268 | 2006-01-08 03:09:00 | I now have dual booting (Xandros and Simply Mepis). Xandros reckons my external modem is on Com6 and it works fine. However, Mepis can't seem to find the modem. Modem is a new Dynalink 1458VQE plugged into the serial port. I have tried looking on the Mepis forum but have not found the information that I need. Dual booting was a cinch - I just followed Geoff Palmer's notes from the magazine of about February 2005 and altered liloconf to include the two lines other=/dev/hda3 |

Having spent most of last year using Xandros, the change to Mepis is quite easy to achieve - if only it could find my modem . cheers, Jim |
