I cant find the disk with the manual for this AP and I want to change psome settings. I have tried Google and still cant find anything for it. Does anyone have one of these and know what IP/port the web based configurator is?

Cheers

DOH. I shall be a bit more specific shall I?

The AP is plugged into my Dynalink RTA 220 through a hub. As far as I remember the AP is set to use DHCP to get the IP. The DHCP tyable of the router reads as follows:

Host Name MAC Address IP Address Lease Time
lappy 00:40:F4:BA:92:F0 192.168.1.5 00:19:47:34
celeron 00:40:F4:AE:82:79 192.168.1.3 00:16:02:32
winbox 00:0D:61:0C:2C:0C 192.168.1.2 00:15:30:27

lappy and celeron are both on wireless. I cannot see an IP for the AP.

419024 2006-01-08 03:54:00 The AP does not have an IP address as far as I know, any more than your hub has one.

Its no more than a different type of network cable with a hub on it?

419025 2006-01-08 04:27:00 The AP will have an IP address, otherwise you couldn't access the configuration interface. How about trying 192.168.1.4 seeing as its the one IP missing in the series you've provided? Otherwise you could copy a file to a pc thats connected via wireless and then use the netstat command in dos, the data should be routed through the AP and thus netstat should show all IP address's that are relevant to the PC transfering the data. The netstat idea should work (unless none of the computers can communicate.
Its a principle similar to using the old messenger to see the ip of the sender

419027 2006-01-08 04:38:00 I'm using USB adapters here, which can also be used as AP's .

The main one, definitely doesnt have an ip address on it .

You can put any IP u want on it, (like a ethernet network), but to go thru it, you have to add the other wireless USB adapter's MAC to it .

The config / adding macs, using WAP/WEP etc, for these are in the program/drivers, that I installed for them .

Don't know whether its just coz mines USB or not .

It might be .

419028 2006-01-08 05:26:00 ahhh yes. All good ideas however none of them work lol.

192.168.1.1 is the modem/router

192.168.1.4 is unreachable

the wireless works

There are no Drivers for the ethernet version of the AP

I think I may have to stop borrowing it and buy my own so that I can secure the network.

Thanks for all the ideas guys
