419409 2006-01-09 07:36:00 I am running Windows XP Pro. I uninstalled a game (Myst V) because it would not start. I attempted to reinstall but I was informed that a copy already existed and would not proceed.
I have gone through the registry and deleted any reference to Myst V and deleted any other reference to Myst V I can find on my machine. I still get the same message when I try to reinstall. Can anyone help please???

419413 2006-01-09 20:41:00 Make sure you don't have the demo installed.

Check for reference to Ubisoft in registry.

Rename the C:/Programs/Ubisoft folder. If rename doesn't work, look at content, and delete if OK.

419414 2006-01-09 23:02:00 I had a similar problem once. This worked for me. Go to Folder options/View untick - Hide protected operating system files. Then search for not only Myst but other words that might be relevent e.g. maker, author, copyright owner, file version, product version, trademark, company and anything else that a file name could be. Then go to the registary make a backup and do the same thing. Or use System Restore
