Have no sound - I have asked a few times but answer doesn't work nobody looks at the thread again - could you please stay with me.

It States :No Audio Device I had full sound before I played around with computer. No can't remember what I did. I've heard I may need a driver but which one My motherboard is un named It is a running XP home.
Seems a bit drastic to go to the recovery disc.

And if u click on the soundcard in device manager, what does the error say?

Try here ( . acer . com . au/supportacer . nsf/webnav2/Retail+Desktops?OpenDocument&ML" target="_blank">support . acer . com . au) select AcerAspire, then SA10 (If this is your system), down the bottom, then click on Audio .

Then click on the link, where it says click on the icon to download wdm_a373 . exe (size: 14511989 bytes)

Are the chipset drivers installed?

Its called "Belarc Advisor" its free and will give you a detailed report of everything thats in your PC then you should be able to Google your mb and sound card model and find the websites for all and any drivers you need.
