Hi Dusty
It's really hard to get your hands on the Pro version if you want to make exe files. There should be plenty of training versions around but you can't use the training version to make an exe file. Any time they appear on auction sites, the prices go pretty high, if they aren't pulled by the site administrators. Have you considered posting a 'Wanted to Buy' notice on Metla's TradeF1 site?

420711 2006-01-13 08:02:00 Yeah, already posted there. Haven't even been able to find a retailer who stocks it except in U.S. of A. and most of them won't ship this far down under. Dusty (3931)
420712 2006-01-13 08:02:00 It's not retailed any longer, auction sites are your best bet. Look for either Visual Basic 6 or Visual Studio 6.
Apparently "Sams Teach Yourself Visual Basic 6 in 24 Hours" has the "VB6 Working Model" which lacks the help files. Check Amazon.

Or you could subscribe to MSDN, expensive, but you will get a pile of other MS software as well - VB6 will be discontinued from this on 30 June 2006.

Or you could look at getting VB Express (msdn.microsoft.com) - not v6, but free from Microsoft.

Yes the Sams version lacks the help files, but you also can't create executable files with that version. It works only to a point but it should be available via TradeMe.
