420448 2006-01-12 07:47:00 When you do manage to get in, run your virus scanner and see if it picks up any nasties, also post a hijack this log. Change your password aswell. Prescott (11)
420449 2006-01-12 07:54:00 I would do that except it's not connected to the internet at the moment but once it is again i'll get a scanner and do that, by the way whats the hijack log? rileys (9551)
420450 2006-01-12 08:12:00 Hijackthis is a program that can show whats running on bootup / startup, and other things .

Its used sometimes to check for probs people are having, with things like spyware /worm/trojan entries on your system .

The site for it is here ( . spywareinfo . com/~merijn/" target="_blank">www . spywareinfo . com) and the main hijackthis exe file is here ( . merijn . org/files/hijackthis . zip" target="_blank">www . merijn . org)

You unzip this zip file, into its own folder, then run it then click on do a system scan and save a logfile .

The log comes up in notepad . This is what u copy and paste in here .

420451 2006-01-12 08:20:00 Ok thanks for that, i'll do that over the next few days and then post the results when im next on the net, thanks for your help. rileys (9551)
420452 2006-01-12 20:42:00 I assume this is a home PC, so the following usually isn't applicable, but just in case...

An account lockout group policy can have several settings:

* Account lockout threshold (how many times you enter a bad password before the account's locked.)

* Account lockout duration (how many minutes it locked.)

* Reset account lockout after x minutes (how long till it's unlocked.)

Again this would be unusual on a home PC, but not on a work PC.

If you want to see your local group policy, Start... Run... Gpedit.msc. The domain admin setting can take precedence, if he wants.
